Once you’ve been tagged, you are supposed to write a post with sixteen random things, facts, habits, or goals about you.
At the end, choose sixteen people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you - if i tagged you, it’s because i want to know more about you!!!! (not in a creepy stalker kinda way, honest! lol)
1. I will be thankful for and in the midst of EVERY situation in my life, no matter what, because God is in control ultimately and no matter how bad it gets, no matter what happens, He always has and will continue to take care of us. The fact that He loves me and forgives me and accepts me, in spite of myself, is more than enough to be thankful for, no matter how bad everything else get. :) ( 1 Thessalonians 5:18; Romans 8:28; Philippians 4:12-13; John 3:16-21; Romans 5:6-11)
2. I am lucky enough to have some of the most FANTASTIC friends in the universe, I am grateful for them everyday! (yes, I stole this answer from the person who tagged me, but she's absolutely right - I'm blessed with the bestest friends in the world - love y'all!)
3. I still need to find a job. Supposed to start a temp job Monday - but the commute is going to be horrible.
4. I'm really very shy and quiet in person - I will email and post like crazy, because I'm far more comfortable with the "written" word than actually having to SAY something, LOL! In crowds I kinda keep to myself, unless I'm real comfortable with the people I'm with. I just never have much to say, really, LOL! On that same note, I'm HORRIBLE about returning phone calls, or making phone calls unless I really, really really HAVE TO, lol! Something to work on this year....!
5. Good grief, I'm only on number 5?! (see #4 above - I just never have much to say, LOL!)
6. I am praying in 2009 for more boldness and wisdom - boldness to be ABLE to speak, lol - and wisdom to know WHAT to say (or what NOT to say)! :)
7. This year, one of my main goals is to get
Operation Love From Home's 501c3 status finalized. Currently working on the application -- need $350 to file the thing once it's complete.
8. Speaking of Operation Love From Home, we are right now collecting Valentine's Cards, Hershey's Hugs & Hershey's Kisses to send to the troops. We need THREE THOUSAND signed cards by JANUARY 31 to ship all over the world for Valentine's Day. C'mon - show our troops you appreciate them! see our website for more details - www.OperationLoveFromhome.org. Every single card truly counts!
9. Holy cow, I'm only on number 9? *sigh*
10. In March, I'm supposed to start classes at Shorter College - just transferred there from Ga. Perimeter College. In 33 months if all goes well, I"ll have my B.S. in either Business Administration or Business Management (that should make me a bit more employable, I'm hoping!)
11. I heart music and love to dance. (Even though I can't dance at ALL!!!)
12. I'm getting back into the swing of things with my letter-writing, slowly but surely. Life Chaos is calming down somewhat (or I'm just getting used to it, lol) and I'm picking back up the things I had to drop over the summer/fall due to knee surgery and all.
13. Being a member of the Patriot Guard Riders is one of the most important parts of my life - not THE most important part, of course (God, family, career come first) but the mission of the PGR is so very close to my heart and means so much to me to be able to do SOMETHING for the families of our heroes, it's up high on the list for sure.
14. I would love to take ballroom dance lessons again! I took a brief 8-week introduction course many, many years ago, and loved it. :) (see numbers 3 and 11 above, lol)
15. I NEVER want to get a tattoo - I hate needles and pain! (Of course, I also said I'd NEVER ride a motorcycle... and we all know how THAT turned out! lol! BTW - I'm dying to go for a ride - been way too long need my fix! lol!)
16. I am going continue supporting the soldiers this year, though probably will need to cut it back to only 4 or so at a time. :(
Am I done? Yay!!! finally! LOL! :)
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Friday's Feast
Appetizer
On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being highest, how polite are you?
Probably about a 9 or so. BUT. In the mornings, I just don't do so well at all. Not intentionally rude ~ I just can't form a coherant thought before 10 a.m. I literally may not hear you if you say "Good Morning" and aren't directly in front of me, waving frantically and/or holding a neon sign... not on purpose, my brain just doesn't work and I'm in my own universe in the mornings, haha! (sorry in advance, haha)
Soup
What was the last thing that made you laugh out loud?
THIS POST by Ambulance Driver. Which turned out to be very bad luck, because later that same day, THIS happened to me. *sigh*
Salad
Who is your favorite cartoon character?
Garfield. Like him, I hate spiders, Mondays and mornings in general (see #1, above). Also like him, I love lasagne and sleep. :-) But unlike Garfield, I don't have a teddy bear named Pookie, and I don't kick my dog.
Main Course
Tell about the funniest teacher you ever had.
*invokes morning brain-deadness to say I can't remember offhand* I've had teachers that were funny and enjoyable, but no one particular teacher stands out as being extra hilarious. It's still too early for me to be thinking this hard, haha. (Is it me, or is there a theme running through this post? ha!)
Dessert
Complete this sentence: I strongly believe that ______________________.
I strongly believe that we need to do everything we can to support and encourage our deployed troops and our veterans here at home. To heck with politics - they need to know we (the "general public") really care about them. It's one thing to say you "support the troops" -- it's quite another thing to actually do something about it. Put words to action and check out these sites:
Soldiers Angels
Adoptaplatoon
Web of Support
Operation Quiet Comfort
Patriot Guard Riders.
-and-
I also strongly belive that THIS is absolutely true.

What's YOUR conservative identity? (A quiz thing)
Found this over at Chromed Curses ~ thanx, LL! :)
You are a Flag-Waving Everyman, also known as a patriot. You believe in freedom, apple pie, rooting for America at all times, and that God gave us a two-day weekend so we could enjoy football and NASCAR.

OK, so - how did you rate? :)

Eight Random Things
I was tagged for this meme by The Bottom Of the Swamp. :-) Rules and my answers are below. :-)
============================
1. Post the rules for the meme at the beginning of your post.
2. This meme consists of the blogger listing eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged in this post are to write their own post listing their own eight random items and list the rules.
4. At the end of the post/meme, list the folks you are tagging and leave them notice of such in their comments.
1. I do not have a strong military history in my family. Everyone thinks that because I'm so involved in soldier support stuff, I must have lots of military in my family. Nope! My brother served in the Navy 4 years when I was a toddler (he's 14 years older than me) -- I barely remember any of this, except for the knowledge that it happened, and once he brought me back a horseshoe crab shell from Hawaii. I also learned, at my great-uncle's funeral (he was 98 when he died several years ago) that HIS (my great-uncle's) grandfather fought in the Civil War. (I'm assuming for the South, of course!) And that, to the best of my knowledge, is the extent of military folks in my family, that I know of.
2. I do not know anything about military ranks, the breakdown of battallion/unit/platoon/squad/whatever, weaponry, or much anything else. Folks tend to ask me a lot of military-related questions, assuming I know such things. Nope, nada! However, if you want to know how to adopt a soldier, what to say in a letter, what/how to put together and ship a care package... ask away! That, I'm almost an expert on, haha! But military "stuff" -- nope, haven't a clue, sorry!
3. I'm 34 and my hair is mostly gray.
4. Dying said mostly-gray hair is NOT on my list of top priorities... I get around to it when I get around to it. Usually every 2-3 months (usually it works out to once per college semester, roughly) but sometimes I get busy and just don't have time or inclination to be bothered. Deal with it. :-)
5. I'm very shy and quiet in "real life." Have been mistaken for being standoffish, which I'm really not... I'm just quiet and don't really have much to say a lot of times. :)
6. However... people who know me as being very shy and quiet... are often surprised at the fact that I can laugh hard and play hard, when I'm with folks I know well and am comfortale with. ;-)
7. I hate "chick flicks." I much prefer action/adventure movies - you know, car chases, things blowing up, vastly outnumbered good guy takes on super-evil bad guy(s), etc. :)
8. I am a major, major bookworm!
Now, as for tagging people, aw heck, I dunno... if ya wanna do this meme, go for it. :) Consider yourself tagged. :)

RATE MY LIFE!
I am so addicted to these useless quiz things, hahaha! This one i found out on MySpace somewhere. And, as with most useless quiz things...just couldn't resist seeing what it has to say, haha! I think my life is somewhat better than it thinks my life is, but whatEVER!
This Is My Life, Rated | |
Life: | ![]() |
Mind: | ![]() |
Body: | ![]() |
Spirit: | ![]() |
Friends/Family: | ![]() |
Love: | ![]() |
Finance: | ![]() |
Take the Rate My Life Quiz |
Your Life Analysis:
Life: Your life rating is a score of the sum total of your life, and accounts for how satisfied, successful, balanced, capable, valuable, and happy you are. The quiz attempts to put a number on the summation of all of these things, based on your answers. Your life score leaves room for improvement. You can make changes to improve your trouble areas, and this will bring you greater satisfaction. Focus on your weakest points and set about to change them. Do not delay your happiness and success. (Read more on improving your life)
Mind: Your mind rating is a score of your mind's clarity, ability, and health. Higher scores indicate an advancement in knowledge, clear and capable thinking, high mental health, and pure thought free of interference. Your mind score is not bad, but could be improved upon. Your mental health is not weak, but you are not achieving full mental clarity and function. Learn how to unclutter your mind. Keep learning, keep improving, continue moving forward. Read advice from other quiz-takers on improving the mind.
Body: Your body rating measures your body's health, fitness, and general wellness. A healthy body contributes to a happy life, however many of us are lacking in this area. Your body score is fairly average, which means there is room for improvement. Keep a focus on your physical health. Protect your body as it is your most valuable physical asset. Nutrition, stress reduction, and exercise are key. Read advice from other quiz-takers on improving the body.
Spirit: Your spirit rating seeks to capture in a number that elusive quality which is found in your faith, your attitude, and your philosophy on life. A higher score indicates a greater sense of inner peace and balance. Your spirit score is relatively high, which means you are rewarded by your beliefs. Spirituality is clearly important to do. Never let it slip, and continue to learn and grow. Read advice from other quiz-takers on improving the spirit.
Friends/Family: Your friends and family rating measures your relationships with those around you, and is based on how large, healthy, and dependable your social network is. Your friends and family score is not bad but can be improved. Maintain your current social net, while you try to expand it. Try new things and form new friendships. You will be rewarded greatly.
Love: Your love rating is a measure of your current romantic situation. Sharing your heart with another person is one of life's most glorious, terrifying, rewarding experiences. Your love score is very low, indicating trouble. If your marriage is not in good shape, consider which options can help you get back on the right track. This will bring you a tremendous life improvement. Read advice from other quiz-takers on finding and maintaining love.
Finance: Your finance rating is a score that rates your current financial health and stability. You have a rather good financial score, which is not all that common these days. Keep doing what works. Avoid common pitfalls and save for the future. You will be glad you did. Read advice from other quiz-takers on improving your finances. Create your own quiz easily at GoToQuiz.com.

What's YOUR personality test?
You Have a Melancholic Temperament |
![]() Introspective and reflective, you think about everything and anything. You are a soft-hearted daydreamer. You long for your ideal life. You love silence and solitude. Everyday life is usually too chaotic for you. Given enough time alone, it's easy for you to find inner peace. You tend to be spiritual, having found your own meaning of life. Wise and patient, you can help people through difficult times. At your worst, you brood and sulk. Your negative thoughts can trap you. You are reserved and withdrawn. This makes it hard to connect to others. You tend to over think small things, making decisions difficult. |
