One of my Patriot Guard friends has breathed his last. The world is a darker place now.
From the PGR website, in the Georgia forum:
At approx 7:12 our brother Deltoid took his final ride on this earth and has now joined his loved ones on the other side. Deltoid said goodbye with his son Tyler [who ourfamily adopted when he was in Iraq], his friend Nancy and the seven of us [PGR members who have cared for him since his cancer diagnosis in November] surrounding him and letting him feel our love.
Thank you Deltoid for being a part of all of our lives. Each one of us is a better person today because of your love for us.
Semper Fi our brother.
Tomorrow, I will be attending the funeral of another local (well, 2 hours away) fallen Soldier from LaGrange Georgia. Funerals for our fallen are ALWAYS difficult... yet tomorrow, I strongly suspect, will be horribly difficult even more than normal for all of us here in GA. Loss on top of loss.
And on top of that double loss, a local friend's husband here in my town is near making HIS final journey, as well.
I hate cancer.
