Heavy on the rum, a bit lighter on the Coke.
Tonight was hard... so very hard.
I did good till I sat there and watched the slideshow of pics of his life.... and then.....
I lost it.
Not completely, as in "in hysterics on the floor wailing" or anything like that - but I was doing some serious crying for a lill while, till my friend C practcially carried me out (um, she's about 5'2" and weighs at least 100 lbs less than I do, if not more). OK, so off to the bathroom, cold water on face, back outside to stand in the flagline.
Later on, the family requested that ALL of us come in together. Deep breath... don't. look. at. slideshow. So I went in...made my way to the front of the room... looked at hte pictures on display.... looked at his riding vest, helmet & ballcap on display, and last of all, at his motorcycle, all shiny & perfect... but empty, riderless.
Ouch.
Managed to get the pics I wanted (click HERE for the pics) and made it back outside without falling apart.
Tomorrow... that will be hard. That is the funeral. I don't do well at funerals, or at least, at funerals of people I knew & loved.
So... here I am... I ate my TV dinner I heated up, and am fixin to get a shower and crash for the night... as soon as I finish this rum & coke. Heavy on the rum. Please.
