This 'n that

Hi, all... sorry for the light (OK, non-existant) blogging this week. It's not that there hasn't been anything to blog about... if anything, there's been TOO MUCH to blog about and I'm just an teensy bit overwhelmed at the moment.

A few highlights:

• The funeral for Lcpl Cody Warren took place on Sunday, and everything went off without a hitch. We'd heard that there was the possibility of protestors showing up, but as usual, it was all talk and they never showed. Thank God. :-) It was a heartbreaking service, as they all are, but I drew strenght and comfort from the other Patriot Guard Riders there, as we all do... it was a privilege to honor this young hero's life by being present at his funeral.
• The Christmas card drive is moving along fantabulously ~ last count was well over 4,700 cards. Looks to me like we'll be hitting, or almost hitting, the magic 6,000 mark before it's all over with!!!! :-)
• Thanksgiving is tomorrow - there is much to be thankful for and I'll concoct a Thanksgiving post at some point very soon. Remember the families of our fallen, and those who are serving far from home, tomorrow. They need our love & our prayers.
• Friday is a big day here in Kat-world... hubby & I will be journeying up to the mountains and FINALLY visiting with the infamous Outlaw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will be gone all day Friday, so don't expect to hear from me till late friday night or sometime on Saturday.
