Need 1,000 more cards in 20 days: LET'S DO IT!!!!

I'm happy to report that Operation: Love From Home's initial goal of 3,000 Christmas/holiday cards has been met! I do not know the "exact" count at the moment - it will be Saturday night before I have time to count & sort them all. HOWEVER, the last official count was 2,559 cards. Yesterday, I went to the post office and picked up FOUR BOXES filled with cards, PLUS ten or twelve BIG, FAT ENVELOPES filled with cards. Hubby went by the post office again today, and picked up several more big, fat envelopes filled with cards. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to look at all the gazillions of packages and figure that there are several hundred cards there ~ most certainly more than the 441 needed to reach the 3,000-card mark!

Now, we've cleared the first hurdle... know what's next? MORE! Let's aim to get at least another 1,000 cards by November 30, for a total of (at least) 4,000 to ship to our heroes! I know we can do it - 20 days, golly, that's three weeks almost, and I had roughly 2,000 (or more) cards before we passed the first three weeks of this campaign! Another 1,000 (at least) should be a snap!

By the way - have I mentioned yet, Y'ALL ARE AWESOME!!!!! Info about the card drive is below, for those who may not be familiar with it:

During this holiday season, let's show our troops we love and support them!!!! From September 30 to November 30, I will be collecting holiday cards for troops stationed in high-combat areas in Iraq and Afghanistan. Being away from home and living in harsh conditions during the holiday season is especially difficult ~ they need to know we have not forgotten them!!! Mail from home helps to keep our troops' morale strong, making a very real difference in their lives.

Send your signed, unsealed holiday cards to:

Mrs. Kathy Orr
P.O. Box 1660
Loganville, Georgia, 30052

The cards can be handmade or store-bought... for that matter, they don't even have to be cards; a hand-written or typed letter is just as wonderful! This is a great opportunity to get your Scout troop, school, church and other civic organizations involved in doing something to show support for our troops.

If you wish to send an email greeting (which will be printed off and mailed along with the holiday cards), please send an email to:
