Awwwww.... A Sweet Kid Story

So, tonight when I get home, my eleven-year-old informed me that one day soon, they have to dress up as an important historical figure for one of his classes at school.

(are you ready to go, "Awwwwwwwwww!!!"????!?)


Squirt told me he told the teacher he wanted to come to school dressed as Sgt. Mike Stokely.

He was genuinely upset when the teacher told him "no, it needs to be someone not so recent," and something about it needing to be someone EVERYONE would recognize "instantly," like Abe Lincoln or something, blah blah blah. Squirt was like, "But, he has a ROAD named after him and EVERYTHING!" (Not to mention, honorably serving our contry and continuing to make a postive impact on people, even a year after his death in Iraq!)


So, now Squirt has to think of some other important historical figure to be. Bummer. :-\
