By Stone Phillips, AnchorDateline NBCUpdated: 11:32 p.m. ET June 11, 2006With so much of the world's attention focused on Iraq, and with American soldiers under fire for some of their actions there, it's easy to forget that the war on terror began and continues— hundreds of miles away in Afghanistan. Early in that war, there was an operation the military called a major success. But there was a battle within that battle that came with a heavy price: Army Rangers on a rescue mission caught in an ambush. Young American soldiers were out-manned and outgunned. They were running out of time, but never out of courage. The report 'Rescue on Roberts Ridge' aired Sunday, June 11, 7 p.m. on NBC.
